Title Fixed Point Theorems in Complex Valued Banach Spaces with Applications to a Non-linear Integral Equation
Speaker Godwin Amechi Okeke
Abstract

The notion of complex valued metric spaces was introduced by Azam et al. (2011). They established some fixed point theorems for a pair of mappings satisfying rational inequality. Their results is intended to define rational expressions which are meaningless in cone metric spaces. Recently, Okeke (2019) exploited the idea of complex valued metric spaces to define the concept of complex valued Banach spaces and then initiated the idea of approximating fixed points of nonlinear mappings in complex valued Banach spaces. It is our purpose in this study to approximate the fixed points of certain nonlinear operators satisfying rational expressions in complex valued Banach spaces. We apply our results in solving certain mixed type Volterra-Fredholm functional nonlinear integral equation in complex valued Banach spaces.
